As my graduation project for my MBA at Otago University back in 2004, I did a survey for the Otago Museum on the values and perceptions of non-visitors to the museum. The museum must have liked my work because it asked a reporter and photographer from the Otago Daily News (Dunedin's newspaper) to interview me about my project.
Here finally was an article about me in the papers for something I had done using my brains :o)

Why I Love Karwin
Aside from the obvious that he is my one and only offspring and that the sun and moon orbit around him as far as I'm concerned (eek, he is going to hate me saying stuff like this), he is also quite funny.
Today, yaya gave me a bunch of papers that she said were Karwin's writings in his creative writing class last year when he was still a Grade 6 student in St. Benedict. I went through them and had a thoroughly good laugh. I'm sharing with you one of my favorites. It was supposedly a petition to St. Peter to allow him to enter the gates of heaven. The letter goes like this:
November 11, 2008
Gates of Heaven
Saints Row
Paradise, Heaven
Dear Saint Peter,
As a child of the Father, the Creator of heaven and earth and all biological factors of this earth and heaven, I would like to apply for a permanent resident's visa to heaven. The reasons I would like to go to heaven is to be able to watch over those who are still on earth, also I believe it would be great to see God and Jesus and to thank them for all that they have done for us. I would like to think of myself as humble (even writing this is giving me chills) as I do not like bragging and boasting. My resume is quite short but I have more reasons to want a permanent resident's visa for heaven as I want to see the angels and to help fight the evil of satan. (Please delay your answer).
Sincerely,
Karwin
